Purpose of meeting: Uncertainty and chaos seem to be normal these days. This is a non-recorded, open dialogue to navigate resilience, adaptability, and a positive mindset. This month's facilitator: Angela Henderson, Founder & Principal Advisor, Henderson Executive Advisors and AWAF Board Member
Angela D. Henderson is a business executive and board director with nearly three decades leading global supply chain, procurement, and operational transformation for Fortune 20 automotive and Fortune 500 utility companies. Known for a transparent, "humanity-first" leadership style, she turns operational functions into strategic engines of enterprise value.
She recently founded Henderson Executive Advisory to partner with executives and organizations navigating growth, change, and strategic inflection points to implement execution systems that deliver strategy, and to coach leaders committed to lasting impact and legacy.
As the inaugural VP of Supply Chain at Consumers Energy, Angela led a $3.2B+ global vendor portfolio, $950M in inventory, and a $285M operating budget, influencing $120M+ in cost savings. She built a 10-year strategy that elevated the supply chain from a back-office function to a core strategic partner, positioning her team to independently own supply chain decisions for the first time.
At Ford Motor Company, she shaped global supply-chain strategy across a $120B+ budget, driving $90M+ in savings. As Ford's first Director of Employee Equity, a role the CEO created for her, she operationalized the company's DEI strategy worldwide. Earlier, while leading Supplier Diversity & Sustainability, she grew diverse-supplier spend from $110B to $140B and earned national recognition. She also spent three years in Brazil leading global programs across Mexico, Germany, and Asia.
Throughout her career she has focused on team development, directly and indirectly, improving cultures and preparing teams for individual and collective success. Angela co-chairs the Coaching & Mentorship Committee for the Automotive Women's Alliance Foundation and has served on several boards, including as President of the Great Lakes Women's Business Council.
Raised in Highland Park with Detroit grit and global reach, Angela holds an MBA from Lawrence Technological University, a BA from Marygrove College, and graduate certificates from Cornell University and the University of Idaho.
